The key difference between the 4G and WiFi versions of the RuralGuard camera is how they connect to the internet:

• 4G Version: This version connects via a 4G SIM card, making it ideal for remote areas without a reliable WiFi connection. It can be installed anywhere there is a 4G signal, perfect for rural locations, farms, or outbuildings.
• WiFi Version: This version connects to your local WiFi network, making it suitable for properties with stable and strong WiFi coverage.

Both versions offer the same features, including high-definition video, human auto-tracking, and two-way audio, but their connectivity options are tailored to suit different environments.

Data is only consumed when the camera footage is accessed through the app, whether you're watching live or recorded video. The camera’s 24/7 recording function does not use any 4G data.

A 4G camera operates using a mobile data connection rather than relying on Wi-Fi or a wired network. It uses a SIM card, just like your smartphone, to connect to the internet via a 4G network. It's ideal for locations like construction sites, farms, or rural properties where setting up Wi-Fi can be difficult. As long as there’s a 4G signal, the camera will function effectively for monitoring and security.

You can install the camera anywhere. However, the higher the camera is, the further you'll be able to see. The recommended installation height for most security cameras is between 2.5 to 3 meters (8 to 10 feet) above the ground. This height allows the camera to capture clear footage of people’s faces while keeping it out of easy reach to prevent tampering or damage.

All cameras come with a Micro SD card. You can choose our 64GB, 128gb or 256GB option. 64GB will give you around 5 days recording, 128GB gives around 10 days, 256GB gives 20 days recording.

Two-way audio means that the camera not only lets you hear what’s happening in the area it’s monitoring but also allows you to speak through the camera.
