Our Story

Built for the middle of nowhere.

We're a Scottish family business making security cameras for the places nobody else bothers with - the far gate, the lambing shed, the beat at the river which is hard to get to. The spots with no power, no WiFi, and the most to lose.

We're not a faceless company. It's run by me, Graham, with a close-knit team handling the day to do. When you message us, you get one of us - not a call centre, not a chatbot. If you're stuck setting a camera up on a wet Tuesday, it's a real person on WhatsApp who answers.

Why we do this

Before RuralGuard, I spent years setting up cameras for farmers and estates - hundreds of them - working with GP Digital Services. So I've done the actual work: up the ladders, out in the yards, sorting the signal, getting kit running in places that had no business getting a picture back. I know what's involved because I've stood in the mud doing it.

And I learned something in all those years that shaped the whole business. A lot of my customers weren't especially techy, and a fair few weren't young - but every one of them could get there with a bit of patience and someone willing to explain it properly. I got good at that.

Good at making a camera make sense to someone who just wants to see their yard from the kitchen, without the jargon and without making them feel daft.

Half the time I'd end up staying for a cup of tea and a catch-up. I've made genuine friends through helping folk get their
cameras working - and that's honestly the part of this I like best.

That's what RuralGuard is built on. Not clever marketing - years of real installs, and the knack of helping anyone, whatever their age or how comfortable they are with technology, actually use the thing. When you deal with us, that's what you're getting: someone who's done it hundreds of times and will take the time to get it right for you.
